Jane SeymourThe Open Hearts Foundation website, the organization was founded in 2010 by Jane Seymour (Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman; Somewhere in Time) and actor/filmmaker James Keach (her now former husband).

The foundation has fulfilled Seymour’s dream of building a legacy dedicated to serving others and empowering people to turn adversity into opportunity, based on the open-hearted philosophy of Seymour’s late mother, Mieke Frankenberg, a World War II internment camp survivor.

The Open Hearts Foundation honors individuals with Open Heart Awards for charitable endeavors. Past recipients include Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry (X-Men), venture capitalist Sonja Perkins (Project Glimmer), and activist Susan Burton (A New Way of Life).
