The big-screen adaption, loosely based of Lee’s 80’s TV series, had it’s red carpet premier at Dolby Theatre on April 30, 2024 in Hollywood, California, after several months of ad-hoc screening to critics and fans. The film stars Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, and is directed by David Leitch, whose previous credits include Atomic Blonde and Bullet Train.
Synopsis: He’s a stuntman, and like everyone in the stunt community, he gets blown up, shot, crashed, thrown through windows, and dropped from the highest of heights, all for our entertainment. And now, fresh off an almost career-ending accident, this working-class hero has to track down a missing movie star, solve a conspiracy, and try to win back the love of his life while still doing his day job. Both Lee and Heather Thomas appear in the movie in the 2nd of 2 post-credit scenes. The first is a split-screen with the credits and shows behind-the-scenes footage of them filming the movie and the practical effects.
Both Lee and Heather were at the film’s red carpet premier in LA on 30th May, along with a rare public appearance of lee and 3 of his 4 children: Lee Jr. Trey and Nikki. Lee said on his Instagram account “… just missing Dane in NYC”
